The room that sells the property
Kitchens carry more weight than any other room, whether a buyer is walking through, a tenant is deciding between two units, or you are the one cooking in it every night. They are also the most coordination-heavy renovation in a house: cabinets, counters, appliances, plumbing, electrical, flooring and finish work all have to land in the right order.
A large number of Cincinnati kitchens were laid out when kitchens were closed-off work rooms with a single window and one outlet. Opening those spaces up, or simply fitting a dishwasher and a modern range into them, is often more about the framing and the electrical than about the cabinets.
We walk the kitchen, identify what is driving the cost and the schedule, and write the scope so you know exactly what changes and what stays.

Three ways to approach a kitchen
Before talking about finishes, it helps to decide which of these projects you are actually doing. The gap between them is significant, and the right answer depends on whether you are staying, selling or renting.
Coordinating the parts that hold up kitchens
Most kitchen delays are not labor delays. They are cabinet lead times, countertop templating that cannot happen until cabinets are set, and appliances that arrive in the wrong week. Velocity manages that sequence as part of the project rather than treating it as your problem.
You get one contact tracking the schedule, and a written scope that makes clear which items are ours to supply and which are yours.
- Cabinet and countertop scheduling built into the project timeline
- Clear split between owner-supplied and contractor-supplied items
- Sequenced demolition so the kitchen is not open longer than it needs to be
- Punch list and final walkthrough before closeout

FAQ
Questions we hear most
Still deciding what the project needs? Call 513-331-2148 and we'll talk through the property.
Can you change the kitchen layout, or only replace what is there?
Both are on the table. Keeping the existing layout is the least disruptive and least expensive route. Moving the sink, range or refrigerator changes plumbing, electrical and sometimes framing, so we price that separately and explain the difference before you decide.
Do you install cabinets I have already ordered?
Yes. Some clients order cabinets themselves and have us handle demolition, prep and installation. Tell us the manufacturer and delivery date and we will build the schedule around it.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
It depends on the scope and material lead times — cabinets and countertops are usually what set the schedule, not the labor. We give you a realistic window after the walkthrough, and we sequence the work so the kitchen is not sitting open waiting on a delivery.
What is the most cost-effective kitchen update for a rental?
Usually a combination of durable flooring, fresh paint, refinished or replaced cabinet fronts, new counters and updated fixtures. It changes how the unit shows without the cost of relocating plumbing.
Do you handle countertops?
Yes — we coordinate templating and installation with the countertop supplier as part of the project schedule so it does not become a separate thing for you to chase.
